About Me

Hi there! My name is Zulma Laracuente, but most people know me as Dr. Lara. I’m a mother of twin, teen girls. My husband and my daughters are my motor to keep going in this crazy adventure that people call life. I understand that being a parent is sometimes scary and stressful. I’m here to help you navigate through the world of parenting with as much ease as possible.

I’m super busy on a daily basis and realize that most people are busy as well. My goal with this blog is to inform parents and caregivers about the most up to date pediatric info on a timely manner. Everyone is so busy… who has hours to spend digesting and interpreting medical data? My intention is to provide concise, up to date information in the pediatric world that you can read in just minutes.

I was born in Salamanca, Spain and grew up in Puerto Rico. Ever since I can remember, I always dreamed of becoming a doctor and specializing in helping children. After finishing medical school in Puerto Rico,  I moved  to Tampa, Florida to do my pediatric residency training at USF. My areas of interest are pediatric development, ADHD, nutrition, safety, prevention, and complex medical conditions.  I’m an advocate for breast feeding and try really hard to help all new and experienced moms to be successful. I enjoy my job and most of all love to see my patients grow into healthy, young adults.
